Week Overview

Week 5 explores mixed methods research — the integration of quantitative and qualitative approaches within a single study or program of research. You will learn the major mixed methods design types (convergent, explanatory sequential, exploratory sequential) and understand when combining approaches yields insights that neither method alone can provide. This week also addresses the practical challenges of mixed methods research, including data integration strategies, quality assessment, and the philosophical foundations that support methodological pluralism.
